These optics are designed with Shake Awake technology that senses motion to power the sight on and off, and last setting recall ensures you don’t lose your customized options once the unit powers down. This model offers up to 50,000 hours of battery life. Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System (MRS) gives the option of a 2MOA dot only, 32MOA ring only or ring with dot reticle. Huge upgrade over the gen1. Buttons are more responsive and the glass is much clearer. Fit was a bit tighter on my slide likely due to it being custom milled for the Gen 1 509T.

*Disclaimer* the HE509T does not have a pic rail, it has a “picatinny like” rail it is 100% proprietary and will not attach to a picatinny rail. That said there is cheap rmr mounts you can get that will mount with the included rmr adapter. Optic is clear and slim definetly premium. Glass has slight tint and slight magnification to it like the 507k.
Haven’t had the optic long enough to test anything else. As for ruggedness it passed with flying colors per SageDynamics.

Holosun has continued to impress me with every new RDS they release. The 509T is no different! The buttons have a solid tactile click when pressed, the sight is window is great glass & well out together, the battery door easily accessible is super handy, and the fact that you can change from a pic rail to provided adapter for RMR cut slides is the icing on top! It’s currently on a 300blk build as an offset sight. Paired with the Arisaka Defense offset mount it is utterly perfect! I feel confident that it’ll stand up to decent abuse even as a range fun /home defense rifle. Holosun has been really upping their game to compete at the head of the RDS game, and it shows with the 509T model. Spend the money and enjoy the multi reticle & great brightness options!

Went above my expectations. Buttons are super crisp compared to an rmr or sro. The adjustment and auto settings work perfect, and decently large picture. The reticle is great, and switching them is super easy. Feels like a tank and looks great.
